MIFARE transponder reader from ASEC Krakow

General description

The CKZ-M-W34 reader is destined for transponder (proximity cards) readout. It works at 13,56 MHz frequency and reads Unique type transponders. The reader cooperates with a bibi system controller (bibi-K12) by sending it card numbers using a Wiegand 34 interface. It is possible to connect 2 such readers to a controller.
The entrance reader is placed outside the protected room. The controller, which is responsible for passage control, storing events, etc. is placed inside the room. This way it is impossible to enter the room from the outside without required permission.

The hermetic and durable high quality casing made of ABS plastic is designed to withstand any surrounding conditions. It is reliable in use and resistant to vandalism. It is easy to fit it to any surrounding thanks to precise construction and esthetic values. Simple and quick installation on any surface, includeing metal surfaces (i.e. metal door-frames). The outside cover of the reader can be assembled without tools.

Identifiers

The CKZ-M-W34 reader reads Unique type proximity transponders. Usually plastic cards are used as transponders. It is possible to print a company logo, a photo of an employee or other data on the card.

Transponders can also take other forms, such as key-fobs, watches, cylinders, etc.

Communication with the controller

The reader sends the code of the read card to the controller. The controller then sends to the reader commands controlling its diodes and buzzer. Apart from that the reader systematically sends its identification code to the controller. This allows the controller to inform the computer immediately if a connection with a controller is broken.
