Mm-R32/PC

system administrator's reader

General device characteristics

The Mm-R32/PC reader is destined for readout of Unique type transponders (proximity identifiers). Transponders can be realized as plastic cards, key-rings, ampoules etc. Each transponder sends a non-repeatable 64-bit code in a 125 kHz field. Transponders use amplitude modulation with Manchester coding.

A transponder, when placed in the reader's field, repeatedly sends its code. The reader, however, sends the code to the computer only once. Transmission is realized through a serial port (RS232). The code is transmitted as ASCII codes.

Identifiers

The bibi system uses Unique type transponders. Each transponder of this type has its own 64-bit code, which is sent when the transponder is placed in the field of the reader's antenna.

Transponders can have different shapes and sizes. The size of a transponder depends on the size of the antenna used in it. Different sizes of antennas mean different readout ranges. The most popular are plastic cards and key-ring shaped transponders.

Communication with the computer

A transponder, when placed in the reader's field, repeatedly sends its code. Transmission is realized through a serial port (RS232 COM). The code is transmitted as ASCII codes.

The bibi-R32 reader can be configured to best match the user's demands. Configuration includes work mode and transmission format. The proper reader configuration can be specified while ordering, or set up by the user using the bibiCom programme (Windows®98/2000/XP).
In the bibi system the Mm-R32/PC reader is used with the standard configuration.

The data sheet contains the descriptoin of how to connect the reader.
