General device characteristics

The bibi system controllers are destined for access control. The bibi-K12 controller is designed for controlling two passages (or sluice). It is equipped with a real time clock and memory able to store 10 000 cards and registering 32 000 events.
The controller is also equipped with two relay outputs used to control electromagnetic locks. There is a possibility of connecting 4 bibi readers to the controller. The six control inputs can be used to connect open door sensors, exit buttons (or IR sensors), sabotage and alarm sensors. Connection with a computer is realized via isloated RS485 interface.
The bibi-k12 controller is designed for indoor installation. It is placed in a small casing made of ABS material. The controller inludes screw terminals for all neccesary connections.

Controlling the lock

The bibi-K12 controller has two relay outputs destined for controlling electromagnetic locks (NO mode, 24V/1A max) or door locking electromagnets (NC mode, 24V/0.6A max). The outputs are protected from short-circuts and overvoltage.
However, in order to attenuate interferences in their formation places each lock inductor should be shunted by a diode (for example 1N4007).
Because of the big current controlling the locks their circuits shoud be connected apart from other controller connections (independently).

Readers

The bibi-K12 controller has two interfaces (R1-R2 and R3-R4) for connecting readers. Each of them can be set to work with different readers.
It is possible to connect to the interfaces:

• two RS232 readers (for instance: RFID readers bibi-R32, bibi-R21, or magnetic card reader bibi-R12)
• or one Wiegand interface reader (for instance: HID, KANTECH, MOTOROLA ... readers).
• or one Track 2 reader (for instance outdoor magnetic card reader MR56T2B)
