bibi software installation version
General description
The bibi system software is a set of programmes which alloow to administrate access control and time & attendance management devices. They are user-friendly and allow to view data registered in the devices in the form of reports displayed on the screen or printed.
The data can be exported to other time and attendance programmes which makes it easier to cooperate with other companies and software.
Additional software tools make installation and administration easier. They also assure data security, which are encrypted using USB hardware keys.
The software can be used in small companies (a few employees - shops, offices, wholesales, etc.) as well as expanded installations spread out through distant towns. The software connects distant bibi network nodes (computers to which bibi devices are connected).
System topography
bibi.net is a network program designed for access control and time & attendance management which is able to control bibi system devieces connected to many bibi network nodes. A bibi network node is a computer with the bibinet server software installed. bibi system devies can be connected to such nodes. In each node a HAK2/bibi hardware key is connected. It is responsible for encoding transmissions between nodes and carrying bibi system operators' passwords. In the simplest single station (one node only) installation USB hardware keys are not necessary (the key is emulated on the computer).
Terminals (system operator computers) can be connected to each node..
Each operator has fixed rights to use the programme. These rights are set by the programme administrator.
Servers exchange data among each other in real time (on-line). All data is being stored on each server in one secure file, which backup is made every day.
Thanks to the ability of operating on multiple servers it is easy to create not only simple installations (one server), but also complex ones consisting of many servers (i.e. in seperate buildings). Such a solution makes creating installations easier (there is no need to put wires between buildings). It allows to make expanded installations (i.e. regions and energy companies), and even connect objects situated in distant towns into one network (i.e. chain of shops).
bibi.net presents virtually infinite possibilities of building access control and time & attendance maintenance systems.
The programme has a built-in Network Time Protocol client, which controls coherence of real time in the whole bibinet network.
The programme is compatible with old (sold to 1st May 2004) and new bibi system devices.
Available installation types
The bibinet_setup programme allows building 4 types of installations:
- bibi network node installation (licence required)
- terminal installation (a programme working on a computer connected to a node and using its database)
- test installation (a simplified installation allowing the installing person to test bibi system devices, licence not required)
- DEMO installation (this installation creates an example database which helps learning about the possibilities of the bibi.net programme)
Programmes created during the installation
As a result of the installation a series of applications and tools are created. They allow to maintain the bibi system.
Applications:
- bibi.net - a programme for configuring the system and create access control and time & attendance maintenance reports
- bibi boss - a programme working on-line, showing present, absent, late and other employees
- bibi gate - a programme showing the photo of a person who is currently using a chosen passage
- bibi counter - a programme counting the number of people residing in a chosen area
Tools:
- bibi archiver - a programme for finalizing expired periods
- bibi client - a programme for configuring terminals of the bibinet network
- bibi comp - a programme simplifying the process of adding new computers to the bibi network
- bibi export - a programme for exporting data to other applications
- bibi import - a programme for importing employee data from other applications
- bibi key - a programme for configuring USB security keys (HAK2/bibi)
- bibi server - a programme for configuring bibi network nodes
- bibi setup - a programme for creating databases
- bibi devices - a programme for updating device software (controllers, readers)
